What follows is a step by step of how to install the add-on, setup the templates and then use the multi-line typed answers in your own notes! Happy Ankifying! Step By Stepġ. This turned out to be quite a common issue, but luckily after some digging, I discovered an add-on, created by a fellow Anki user, who solved this problem! A screenshot of what the Anki homepage should look like after importing Anatomy. This will import the flashcards from that file into the Anki application. With the Anki application open, double-click on one of the Anki. Anki’s inbuilt “typed” answer notes are not able to handle newlines and so we were limited to one-line answers. These are not previewable files and can only be viewed on the Anki application. This was the inability to have multi-line typed answers. If you would like to help translate the manual into a different language, please see the translation docs.

The translations may not always be up to date. With typed answers, you are not only actively stimulating your brain by having to think about the answer, but you also have to physically type it out. Volunteers have contributed translations of this manual. The reason I believe typed answers can be so effective in Anki is that they essentially add another layer of active recall to your practice.
