You can play forever, that's a vanilla feature, it doesn't end after 1200 days, the score just gets totaled up at that point. is that the same version?įor career mode I dunno, just something that makes it possible to guide your side to victory or lose would be cool.Īnd deffo the bigger map, maybe would be cool. blackaces99 wrote: Im not going to lie, being able to download 2.8gb faster than 800kb/s would be pretty nice. There is a full IS map in production right now that is divorced from RT that I might end up including, but haven't decided on yet.Ĭareer mode: Career mode doesn't end? You can play forever, that's a vanilla feature, it doesn't end after 1200 days, the score just gets totaled up at that point.

Map: No, it currently does not have the full IS map. You need the one I linked, it has some stuff I'm using that the Nexus CAB doesn't have yet. The Nexus hasn't been updated since May I think but that CAB was updated about two days ago.

Still working on it now.ĬAB: That CAB is actually more up-to-date than the one on the Nexus. Preview: wasn't ready for one, sorry man. Is the career mode limit fixed? i dont want it to end. preview next time :PĪnd then you dump an old version of the CAB via mediafire, FML.īTW obvious question does it contain a larger map? That human civilization survived the "history" of the Battletech universe is a miracle, humans are stupid, given enough tech, they'd happily find an excuse to wipe themselves out.Gunganator wrote: I was made to wait all weekend. Which all leads back to the wiping each other out bit again. I doubt any one person could reproduce any one lost tech, and there is so much suspicion, getting people to work together is risky, dangerous, and provocative. No nation on Earth could withstand every other nation (all at once) for very long, and we're talking a Post-Earth Society spanning the stars, wiping out entire planets is both easy, and preferable to protracted war.īy comparison, the Tech "lost" in Battletech is far, far more complex than a mere computer. And once you start gathering together valuable people, you also make yourself a target, and if EVERYBODY else hates you, you'll eventually fail to protect them. Very few "average" people know machine language, and if somebody wanted to deny us computing power, those who do know would be highly valued (by both sides). I'm not without knowledge of both hardware and software, and if given time (and resources), I could probably physically produce a very basic computer, but chips alone don't make a computer, and I don't know machine language, so my program knowledge is worthless. There are examples of this in the real world history as well, where particular crafting techniques used 100's or 1000's of years ago are unable to be reproduced. If the people and resources used to construct something are gone, then its gone.

didn't happen.ĭo *you* know how to design and build a CPU? which across multiple planets and systems is. at least not without a near extinction event. how did an intergalactic civiliization Forget how to build double heat sinks and gauss rifles?
